Home Stretch

Greeting you all!

Continuing to use Reverend Joshua's car today, the saga goes on! In spite of efforts to get Christopher's van back we have not been successful. Christopher believes we may be able to get it back before we leave on Saturday for the airport, however, Guma has assured us we can rent another vehicle in case it is necessary.

Sue spent her morning working with the sewers to finish the new gorilla pattern. A cute gorilla emerged! Several of the sewers brought babies on their backs so the Centre was live with the sounds of little voices.

A very young sewer! Her name is Choice.

Karen spent the morning with Keneth observing a music class. They were learning about Bach and Handel and the Baroque period of music so Karen was able to play for them from Bach's first violin concerto and Handel's Sonata VI. The students have to memorize a lot of  information for their testing this fall.

Dave worked in the office with Prudance discussing the numbers of students currently enrolled. He also met with Rev. Philip about future strategic planning for MHS. In the late afternoon, Sue walked through the reformatted Muko High School Strategic Plan with Rev. Philip, Eric, and Peace who is our librarian at MHS.

Since Christopher had to take our car to try and settle the police issue, Dave and Karen walked down from MHS to the ARC, about a mile downhill.

The view from the road on the walk down the mountain. The patchwork fields are beautiful

In the afternoon, the two Honor Selection teams came in to meet about the scholarships for the children at Murole and MHS. The two hour meeting was productive with everyone learning new ideas for moving forward.

While we waited for Christopher to go back up to the police station again, Dave and Karen also met with Guma, Judith, and Generous about our vocational students. We again agreed on our policy of only allotting $700 per year for vocational study and looked at every student to be sure they were falling within the  guideline. One of our students is going to have to change to a different school as her $700 has already been spent and her vocational school is requiring fees for a fourth term. Karen plans to type up a revised policy plan.

The team arrived back at the Cephas close to 6 pm. We are planning our final packing- we are incorporating suitcase inside suitcase to get the 9 remaining  suitcases home among three of us.

We are SO looking forward to coming home! We have had a warm reception here and we will miss our "second home" at the Cephas Inn, especially the staff in the dining room. See you soon!
